Weird body?

by qays
(brunei)

I was playing my classical guitar recently which I have not picked up for a long time, and then, I realised something..

I noticed the back of the body of the guitar seemed to be shaped a bit peculiar, when I set it flat on its side, I noticed the back was shaped a bit curvy. So when I lied it on it's back, I realised that there was a sort of pointy hump at the back, which made the guitar now able to oscillate.
Iis this normal? If not, how and why did it happen?

Hi Qays,

You've got nothing to worry about, it is normal. It is shaped this way to increase the volume and tone quality I believe. Many guitars use this technique nowadays.

I hope this was helpful.

Kind regards,
Trevor M.
