Screeching sound during chord changing

How do you minimize screeching sound during chord changing?

Hi,

The best way to stop the screeching sound is to dis-engage from the strings. That is, you should lift your fingers up from the strings (only as much as need be) and move to the new position.

Additionally, some string makers are producing strings with a coating on them that helps somewhat to reduce string noise.

Hope this helps,
Trevor M.

Snarling Dog Strings
by: Patricia

I know how crazy this is going to sound, but the Snarling Dog brand guitar strings (yes, even for classical) have become my favorite brand!

They don't squeak as much, and they've got these great little bulbs on the end to keep them in place after you string them.
