Hi Amy, In guitar music it's traditional to see a number(1-6) inside a circle. This indicates which string the note is on. You can see a little example on this page... where you can see: "0" in a circle, which means the "A" open string; a "3" in a circle, which means the "c" on the third string; and another "3" in a circle, which means the "B" on the third string.
