Learn to read music

by Andrew Constantinou
(UK & USA)

At present I'm learning to play guitar using tabs, but would like to be able to read music, can you recommend a book to learn from.

Thanks

You sent me the tab for El Testamen de Amelia a few months ago which I can now play. I sent you a thank you email but it kept coming back so I hope this reaches you.

Many thanks

Andy Constantinou

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the very nice comments, I appreciate them very much. A book I could recommend for theory is Alfred's Music Theory series. The blurb on the site is useful information about the series...

"Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory is designed for students of any age, whether listeners or performers, who want to have a better understanding of the language of music."

Additionally, you might want to supplement your learning with a good Dictionary of Music.

I hope this is of help.

Kind regards,
Trevor M.
