Electric Classic or not?

by David Wiles
(Hardy, Arkansas, U.S.A.)

Hi,

I am thinking about buying a classical guitar. I notice in many videos many professional guitarists do not use an electric classical style.

Is there a reason for this?

Is it better to not have the electric pickup? It makes a difference on what I buy, if I ever get the money. I am stuck right now with a lent acoustic, but it is not as good.

Asturias does not sound the same on it. But do I get an electric clasical or just a regular?

David

Hi David,

I think it comes down to your personal choice as to what you get. I think most professionals don't use them because it's tradition to use a full acoustic.

Don't be put off by what others do. If you like the acoustic/electric then buy it for your enjoyment.

I hope this helps a little.

Kind regards,
Trevor M.

Electric Classic or not

I had a pickup and graphic equaliser fitted to my CAMPS artisan - Since I bought a Yamaha silent which, for practice purposes, is absolutely brilliant! Now I regret 'spoiling' the CAMPS.

Phil
