11-String Classical size Terz/Quart Guitar,
Peter Biffin, 1999.

Custom made by Peter Biffin who was one of Australia's leading luthiers.

Rosewood back and sides, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, fine cedar soundboard. Carbon Fibre Lattice Bracing.

The guitar has two pegboxes, the first with 7 strings on the fingerboard, the second with 4 diapason strings mounted on a theorbo style head. The guitar also has a very successful and innovative bridge design.

Fretted stringlength: 570mm; Theorboed stringlength: 790mm.

Currently tuned: A B C D E A d g b e' a'?(Renaissance lute relative tuning). Or the strings on the fingerboard can be viewed as standard guitar tuning plus an extra higher string tuned at a1.

Could also be tuned in 11 course Baroque lute relative tuning (with appropriate re-stringing).

Its' Carbon fibre lattice bracing and highly successful and innovative bridge design not only gives this instrument a beautiful and even sound quality throughout its full range, it has a very powerful and very strong sound. Ideal to fill a concert hall either as a soloist or in an ensemble
