Beginner wanting to learn Flamenco

I have a Conde Hermanos Flamenco guitar and want to learn to play Flamenco music.

I live in Huntington West Virginia and don't have any teachers that teach Flamenco. There are a couple of teachers that teach classical.

Should I start with one of them first? Do you have any recommendations for dvd's for beginning flamenco?

Hi John,

I would recommend you learn Flamenco if that's what you really want to learn. Although classical is related, it's not really the same. They both have their different feel, appeal and charm AND techniques.

I don't have any DVD's on Flamenco but have a few books. To be honest I haven't really gone through them exhaustively so I wouldn't feel comfortable in recommending them at this point in time.

Perhaps you could peruse some books online to see what appeals to you. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
