Artificial Harmonics

by Gouranga Debnath
(India)

Hi Trevor,

I have been quite keen on learning how to play artificial harmonics. I have observed John Williams' style of playing them but my guitar teacher has showed me a technique which is a bit different.

This has led to a bit of confusion for me. Now could you tell me what should be the exact position of my right hand and what is the perfect way to play artificial harmonics with my right hand?

Hi Gouranga,

I put up a page some time ago (including great pictures) about playing harmonics and this explains the proper technique.

You can see that page here...

I hope it helps you.

Kind regards,
Trevor M.
