Your Classical Guitar Input HereAcoustic or Classical Acoustic Guitar?
by Joe
I have a guitar that once belonged to my mother and I have recently been practicing on it but I'm not sure if it's a classical acoustic or regular acoustic. The book I'm learning from, Guitar For Dummies, has noted that there is a difference between the two in many regards. ie: stringing, positioning, shape, styles of music that can be played on it. I have tried other sites to help me tell the difference but so far all I have discovered is classical guitars usually don't have pick guards. Mine does not have a pick guard. Is there any other way I can tell the difference or should I just bring it into a music shop and have them tell me? I don't want to go in there and ask a potentially stupid question. Hi Joe, I'm thinking the easiest way would be to go to Google images. Here's one for classical guitar... And here's one for Acoustic guitar... I hope this is of help. Kind regards, Trevor M.
