1. News

Hi to all new and old subscribers!

Welcome to the January 2007 issue of Great Guitar Tips.

I trust you all had a great festive season and holidays. In case you were wondering, I didn't send out a newsletter last December. I decided to take a big break but I've made up for it this month with 2 new lessons on the free page (see below).

I've finally got the new video player to work properly and it's on several pages (including the new ones) at the moment. I'm very pleased with the look of it as I can match it to my site colors and I think it makes my site look better. And, most importantly, I think it's a better player overall in comparison with what I've used in the past including youtube.

Eventually I'll re-shoot and replace all the old videos on the site and replace them with this player but that will take several months at least.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter. Let's go!

2. New Video Addition to Guitar Stringing Page - Updated!

I re-shot the guitar stringing video and made it more comprehensive and used the new video player too. You can see it in action here... It takes a while to load as it goes for approximately 9 minutes but hopefully you'll find some useful tips there.

3. New Page Additions

The new additions this month (with video and sheet music) are the Spanish Folk Song which is anonymous and a Minuet and Trio by Anton Diabelli. I've used the new video player on these pages too.

The Spanish Folk Song is a most popular classical guitar tune for the ages. Every "man and his dog" knows or plays this tune but I don't mean that in a pejorative sense, more in homage to its overall popularity.

The Minuet and Trio displays Diabelli's musical class and sophistication and his intimate knowledge of the guitar.

You can find them by scrolling down the free guitar lessons page...

4. This Month's Fr/ee Music

And now for the music! This month's music is a jolly little Bouree by Krieger. You can download it here...

Don't forget to right click and use "Save Target As" to your desktop (if you're using Windows). I hope you enjoy the music!

And that's all for this issue. See you next month:))
