The Playing of Aniello Desiderio
by: Jeff Stanley

There's an excellent ten-part series of videos on YouTube featuring the playing of Aniello Desiderio. Part One is here:

I feel that overall as a student of Manuel Barrueco and keep with his world concert tour schedule, master class schedule, plus the various recording endeavors he has chosen to embark upon had catapulted into one of the areas all the other greats have never been.

When I studied with Manuel he never held anything back with any study. For this I hold high regard along my experience with the classes of compostella de Atlanta by: Jose Thomas'. My transcription fingered pieces were lost by an accident. Now I cannot share. I will look through this new information to gain the feelings you seem excited about.

Alice Artz and Leona Boyd have much artistic giving?s that are always overlooked in the private pedagogical and master series of teaching and deviance of material and esoteric information that all guitarists look for but seem to never find.

Those special things cannot be taught but must be found through the 1 percent of desire and the rest through the 99 percent hard perspiration of laboriously working, practicing and laboring and never ceasing to believe we can excel to a point that will surpass the master we admire so much, that is their goal.

I pay homage and not humbleness but respect and admiration, but value every second and every word they have told me during master classes that may benefit in all ways that are possible. I will never learn enough about the classical guitar that I wish that I could know and perform in this life. Perhaps in another? I am honored.

Manuel is a wonderful and great Guitarist, teacher and a friend to the world guitar Community and gives to each of us in ways that no other great teacher, performer and pedagogical clinician has ever done before. I appreciate the fact we much appreciate all those we have. We need more credible performer/master performers/ master class opportunities than ever before. He has always taken that time.
In full gratitude for the Guitar and to Manuel Barrueco,
James
